Some weeks are just tough, and it feels as if the universe has blind-sided you.
It is shocking, and can feel sad and as though despite your positive efforts you seem to be headed in the wrong direction.
It happens to all of us from time to time - life just feels hard.
But remember, most of the time it is not your fault. Challenging times are part of the natural ebb and flow of life.
During a recent hike, a friend said to me, “If you do what you love, it will be what he needs.” in reference to me worrying I was not giving my sweet Romeo 🐶 🐾 enough outlets to express his big energy.
Her advice was spot on. At that moment, we were both absolutely delighted to be on the mountain doing what I love - hiking and communing with nature, and what he needs - to be outdoors running around exploring.
I’ve thought a lot about that advice. It is transcendent in that, from a spiritual point of view, it applies to every situation in life - challenging or not.
To care for ourselves by doing what we love - what feels good,
enables us to have the time, energy and resources to serve those
that depend on us for the love and attention they need.
Life will throw you unexpected curve balls from time to time, and it’s okay to feel shocked, sad and a little hurt but only for a moment.
Rather than dwell on why it happened or finding guilt in yourself or those you perceive at fault, decide what it is you really love and do it - do it whole-heartedly.
The unexpected mental, emotional, physical or spiritual challenge is a call from the universe to wake up and pay attention to your Soul’s yearning; your true heart’s desire - to do what you really love.
Listen to that call and follow it.
Gift yourself with the energy of feeling good. It will bring you clarity, and the unexpected curve ball won’t seem so shocking or disempowering.
You will remember everything is temporary.
You will begin to notice, in a way that feels miraculous, you are being supported by the universe.
You will sense the path you are to take.
Fresh energy will roll in, unseen opportunities will show up, and new connections and friendships will develop.
When you take a deep breath and lean into doing what makes you feel good, the universe will give you what you need!
