Connecting to your inner self and the world around you on a deeper divine level sounds like woo-woo kind of stuff, but is it?
You don’t have to be religious to sense and feel the divine within yourself or its energetic presence within your interactions with others.
The Divine Within Exists In Everyone.
It is not a destination but a deep well of wisdom available to anyone that is willing to simply take a deep conscious breath.
Your inhale is connected to your sympathetic nervous system which controls your fight or flight response, and your exhale is connected to your parasympathetic nervous system, which calms the body.
Typically, what triggers your fight or flight response are stressors within one or all of these four areas; health, health, love, and career.
When any of us find ourselves all keyed up, it is usually due to not feeling good because of poor health, lack of money, unfulfilling relationships, unfulfilling work, or a combination of them all.
When you add the unresolved generational issues that we harbor to those stressors, what you have is a society of walking emotional time bombs on the verge of exploding.
The Divine Breath is the Alternative.
At the first sign of anxiety...
Frustration setting in
Anger showing up
Nervousness to speak
Inability to think
Increased heartbeat and breathing
Choose to shift your attention to your breathing. Take a deep inhale. Follow your inhale into your lungs, then all the way down into your belly, expanding your abdomen as large as it will allow, then, with control, slowly exhale.
One conscious breath can stave off a full emotional melt-down that is likely to rupture into a reaction with negative results.
We are all human and sometimes we miss the mark. We just “lose it” but at the heart of our divine wisdom is love.
We are meant to live in a state of feeling loved.
Any other feeling is fear.
Fear is that uncomfortable stressful feeling of not having enough of what we want… time, energy, money, fulfilling work, acknowledgement, recognition, love, personal time, physical touch, creative expression, communication, emotional connection, etc.
When fear (disguised as anxiety) is not quickly quelled, we typically react - emotionally explode, rather than respond.
I invite you to give yourself the peaceful feeling of connecting with your inner divine, so you may experience a more loving outcome. Start with one conscious breath a day and see where its wisdom leads you.
Today, I breathe.
For one moment, I let go and let love.
Inhale. Exhale. Repeat
