Last night a friend sent me a funny video from #tik-tok. It truly made me belly laugh and then a few hours later I realized I had been spellbound by the tick-tok phenomena.
The good news is, I came across Walker Hayes’ feed. I had no clue who he was or even existed. For those of you, like me, that don’t know, he is a contemporary pop-country singer and oh so delightful.
The tik-tok videos he makes with his children (6 of them) are good clean fun. I think I watched them all.
In one of the videos he plays his guitar and sings harmony as one of his daughters fidgets and lovingly sings, This Little Light of Mine. It was adorable.
Fast forward…. It's now early this morning.
As I laid in my bed snuggling with my sweet little dog, Romeo, I noticed the sunlight naturally found every tiny opening around the edges of my gray velvet blackout curtains to shine its brilliance through the dark.
I heard that little melody, “... this little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine! ... ” dance through my mind.
“The universe is brilliant in it's capacity to always find a way to remind us our only function is to shine our light.,” I thought.
Then I remembered a teaching from A Course In Miracles; “Love is to fear what light is to darkness.”
To know that we can cut right through fear with love, to know our truth,
just as light cuts through the darkness so that we may
see our way, makes life so much easier.
We can overcome anything with love because anything that does not feel like love is fear.
My friend Michael always says, “Desperation is a stinky cologne." And he is absolutely correct because desperation is fear just as anxiety is, anger is, frustration is, worry is and so forth and so on.
So I ask you...
What are you worried about?
What are you holding yourself back for?
What is bigger than love?
Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
If "love is to fear what light is to darkness" then all you
have to do is let your light shine, let it shine, let it shine!
You are not going to suffer the many perils that the little mini nay-sayer in your head doing all those gymnastics with your thoughts likes to make you think you will. I promise!
To shine your light is to love yourself, and to love yourself
is to walk and talk your truth.
What is there to fear? NOTHING!
And so it is.
Today we cut through the madness by loving ourselves out of the darkness of the misguided fearful thoughts and into shining our truth.
Pssst… not sure how?
Listen to your belly, it knows your truth and what you really want to say and do.
Shine Your Truth!
